Romance is a huge draw for JRPG fans in Persona 5 Royal, and with the option to court one of 10 ladies, players have no shortage of choices. The Shogi genius Hifumi Togo is one of Joker’s options, and she’s also the Star Confidant, giving Joker access to many different escape, switch-out, and double money Skills while earning her favor.

Updated January 2nd, 2022 by Jacob Buchalter: Sadly, Hifumi Toga is not one of the characters that have a lot of new content in Persona 5 Royal or even any content at all in Persona 5 Strikers. But, despite all this, she’s still a fan favorite given her impeccable design and cold-but-caring demeanor. So, for anyone just hopping into this beloved JRPG franchise or even those coming back to it, here are some of the best gift options for her.

12 Dragon Sword Keychain

Grabbing a present for Joker’s favorite lady in Persona 5 Royal doesn’t have to be expensive. For Hifumi, some of the most practical gifts are the cheapest. Those interested in getting a cost-effective item to boost their standing with this professional Shogi player can grab the Dragon Sword Keychain.

This costly little accessory will only run Joker 500 yen. Joker can purchase it in the Otaku Goods Shop in Akihabara. It gives +2 Boost Points, landing it in the ‘good’ but not ‘amazing’ gift options.

11 Custard Cake

Not every gift choice has to be sentimental; Joker can grab a tasty treat for his Confidants too. One item to impress Hifumi is the Custard Cake. Joker can get his hands on this snack for just 1500 yen, which is still quite cheap. Head over to the Supermarket in Shibuya to procure this item and net +2 Boost Points for her Confidant Rank.

10 Uji Matcha Flan

As if one sweet tooth option wasn’t enough, Hifumi actually has another gift option in the same vein, the Uji Matcha Flan.

This pudding dessert, like the Custard Cake, is also found in the Shibuya Supermarket. Though, it is a bit pricier at 2,400 yen for the same +2 Boost Points.

9 Black Mug

While it’s a bit mundane for this urban fantasy game, a nice mug can mean a lot to the right person. Grabbing a practical gift with the Black Mug in Shinjuku shows Hifumi that Joker cares about his partner on and off the board.

As with the previous items, the Black Mug gives +3 Boost Points. Joker can find this cute little container in Shinjuku’s General Store. It only costs 1800 yen, so it’s yet another item on the list with a lenient price tag.

8 Glass Vase

While practical gifts are nice, decorations are another excellent option for romance options in Persona 5 Royal. If helping decorate this Shogi protege’s room sounds appealing, make sure to look for the Glass Vase.

Getting Hifumi this handy little decoration will reward Joker with +2 Boost Points. Head over to the Underground Mall in Shinjuku to purchase this piece for a moderately expensive 3200 yen.

7 Rakugo Collection

Rakugo is a performance art that’s beloved by intellectuals across the seas in a similar way to classical music, so of course, it would be something Hifumi is interested in.

This calming collection of story performances is perfect for Hifumi’s concentration, making it a great gift idea for Joker. Grab it from the Music Store in the Station Underground Mall to net joker an impressive +3 Boost Points for his efforts. At 3000 yen, prices are certainly starting to climb more and more.

6 Incense Set

Sometimes, a relaxing scent can put the mind at ease. Hifumi spends most of her time focusing on Shogi, so help her take the edge off by grabbing an Incense Set. Now if only Joker could use them for himself after dealing with the rest of the Phantom Thieves.

This calming set of scents is sure to put anyone dealing with stress at ease, or at the very least show her that Joker cares. In Shibuya’s Underground Mall, the Cosmetics Store carries this item for 3,800 yen. Head over to grab it and get a hefty +3 Boost Points.

5 Book Cover

As both a genius Shogi Player and a hard-working student, Hifumi spends plenty of time reading. Yusuke claims she keeps to herself, and, unsurprisingly, she passes the time with a good book. A Book Cover serves as a great gift for someone invested in literature like her.

This item can be purchased from the Japan Sundries Shop in Shibuya’s Underground Mall. Joker can head over to this shop and nab it for 3,000 yen and yet another +3 Boost Points.

4 Rose Bouquet

Once Joker has cemented his place as a valued confidant to Hifumi, he’ll have more opportunities to spend time with her. With this extra time, there are plenty of opportunities to be romantic. One of Hifumi’s favorite gifts available in Persona 5 Royal, a popular Steam game that it is, has to be the Rose Bouquet. Make sure to grab this item at some point in her Confidant Rank, as it will trigger a unique dialogue that is otherwise unavailable.

The Rose Bouquet can be found at the Flower Shop in Shibuya’s Underground Mall. This is the same shop Joker can also find a job at while exploring Tokyo, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find. Giving it to Hifumi will reward Joker with +3 Social Points (as it should). And, unsurprisingly, this gift is one of the more expensive ones at about 3,200 yen.

3 Designer Perfume

While most of Hifumi’s gifts are somewhat practical, the Designer Perfume gift is probably one of her only ‘stereotypically feminine’ gift options (flowers, makeup sets, etc) alongside the Rose Boquet. Still, who doesn’t like smelling good for their significant other?

Now, to obtain this item, players will need to go to the Cosmetic Store in Shibuya’s Underground Mall. As one would expect, this is certainly one of the most pricey options at 7,800 yen. But, for a +3 Boost to the Star Confidant (and her associated Personas), it’s absolutely worth it.

2 Fountain Pen

Yet another refined option for Hifumi, the Fountain Pen is an elegant option that will cost Joker a pretty penny. It nets another +3 Boost Points, but at a hefty cost of 8,000 yen.

Now, there are two places Joker can obtain this item, either from the General Store in Shinjuku or from Mitsubachi Bungu in Kichijoji.

1 Sakura Fan

The final gift players should be mindful of is the Sakura Fan. This simplistic gift is the most expensive on the list, costing 4,800 yen. While the price tag is the highest, it does come with several benefits.

This is the second item that rewards players with unique dialogue after giving it to Hifumi. And, of course, gifting this item rewards Joker with another +3 Social Points.
